Week 5 – Timmerman Was Here
Listen to the first sentences of the story, Timmerman Was Here by Colleen Sydor, then pause the video.
That was a strong lead sentence to capture your attention. It makes you think about who Timmerman might be? Why would anyone not like him?
Now watch and listen to the story.
(Sorry about the quality of the video. It was the only read aloud.)
As you were listening to the story you probably did a lot of guessing and predicting about what was happening and going to happen at the end of the story.
For this story I want you to think about how wild our brain goes when guessing about what is happening or predicting that we often can be wrong. When predictions are grounded in evidence they may not end up being correct. But the prediction may not be wrong either. We just may need to adjust out thinking as we learn.
No writing here unless you want to write about your thinking and how your prediction needed to be adjusted/changed.
