An exclamation mark is used as an end of the sentence punctuation, the sentence involved is called an exclamatory sentence, meaning that strong emotion is expressed.

For the fun of it, write down sentences you hear at home that are being said with emotion/excitement! Remember to put the exclamation mark at the end of the sentence.
